SPARTANBURG, SC-- Lucille Luker Davis, 92, of Magnolia Place, and formerly of 764 North Church Street, Archibald Rutledge Apartments, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2006, after an extended illness. Born on October 7, 1913, in Piedmont, SC, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Anna Hughey Luker and the wife of the late Louie T. Davis who died in 1985. Mrs. Davis retired from Western Electric in North Andover, MA, in 1971, and she and her husband returned to Spartanburg where he had previously been a long time employee of Spartan Mills. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She was also an active community volunteer for RSVP and Mobile Meals.She is survived by four children and their spouses, Ernie and Joan Davis, Linda and Tony Brooks, and Ann and Vernon Smith, all of Spartanburg, and Thomas and Laurie Davis of Campobello. She also leaves a loving legacy of eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Reared as one of nine brothers and sisters, she is survived by one sister, Ruth Lamkin of Marietta.Cryptside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex conducted by the Rev. John Cox and the Rev.
