Miller, Lucille "Cile" M.Feb. 24, 1921 - Jan. 10, 2008Lucille "Cile" M. Miller, Hendersonville, N.C., a long- time resident of Sarasota and Sapphire, N.C., died Jan. 10, 2008 in Hendersonville.Private services will be held in North Carolina.Born on February 24, 1921, in Birmingham, Ala., she attended George Washington University, and met her future husband Robert J. "Bob" Miller at the University of Maryland.They moved in 1940 to Sarasota, where Bob joined his father and brother in the family business, Miller Trailers Inc.Together, they built one of the original homes on Lido Beach designed by Ralph Twitchell and raised two children on the Key, Paula Miller Davidson (Barry) and Jay Miller Jr. (Lisa).Cile recalled how she would chase rattlesnakes and giant mosquitoes from the yard and ride her bicycle across the then wooden bridges to town to buy groceries. Blackout curtains were required on the windows during the war years.In addition to supporting her children's activities she was for many years a dedicated volunteer at Children's Haven, an early school for the developmentally disabled.After spending summers in North Carolina, she moved there permanently in the eighties to enjoy cool air and golf.In addition to her children and their spouses, she is survived by her adored grandsons Brent Davidson, Clay Davidson and Alex Miller.
