Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 16, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. from Mount Sinai Baptist Church, Hope Hull, AL with Reverend Pigman officiating. Burial will follow in Kindle Cemetery with Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc. directing. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Melvin Carter; six daughters, Cynthia (Waustine) Cobb, Patricia (Ricky) Bradford, Beverly (Vernon) Echols, Mildred (Clarence) Walton, Linda (Nathaniel) Price, and Sonia (Barney) McWilliams, all of Atlanta, GA; six sons, Herbert Harrell, Curtis Carter, Mark (Vivian) Carter, and Calvin (Linda) Carter, all of AL, Anthony (Stephanie) Carter, and Ernest (Shawn) Carter of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Susie Jackson, Blanche Landrum, and Henretta Tyson; three brothers, Andrew Harrell, Peter Harrell of Detroit, MI, and Clifton Harrell of FL; 32 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; two devoted nephews, Antonia Jackson and Robert Tyson; two devoted nieces, Barbara Melamb and Constance Smith; a very special cousin, Willie Mae Matthews; two very special and devoted friends, Ethel Pattern and Peter Cobb; and a very devoted grandson, Darrell Carter.
