LUCI HORTON GARY, IN Luci Horton, 63, of Gary, IN passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010. Luci was born in Austin, TX on September 12, 1946 to Ellis and Amenta Horton. She graduated from University of Texas with B.A. in Journalism and from DePaul University with a JD degree. She was highly involved in public service to the community. Luci's services to the City extend over 30 years. Her services include involvement in the NAACP, City of Gary Director of Redevelopment and attorney to the Genesis Convention Center and Community Development. She also served as an attorney for the Law Department for several years. Her most recent contribution was serving as Director of the Gary Sanitary District. Luci is survived by her children: Christopher King and Whitney Chapman; and a loving host of sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 201 W. Ridge Road, Gary, IN 46408 on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.
