Louise Wright Fairfield, 90 KENNEBUNK - Louise Wright Fairfield, 90 , a resident of Oakwood Lane, Kennebunk formerly of Kennebunkport, died Thursday Nov. 1, 200 7(All Saints Day) at her home after a brief illness. Louise was born in Lewiston on Nov. 21, 1916 a daughter of Harold S. and Bertha L. (Fowler) Wright. She graduated from Edward Little High School Auburn, Class of 1934 and attended Bates College in Lewiston. She married Philip G. Fairfield in 1941 and moved to Radford, Va. where they lived from 1941 to 1945. The family returned to Maine and resided in Rumford from 1945 to 1949. In 1950 they moved to Kennebunkport, where she lived for 52 yrs. Louise worked at the Kennebunkport Post Office for over twenty years. She was also active in the community where she served on the school board, was a leader in the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was a 56 year member of the Aurora Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Bridge Club and a lifetime member of the Good Cheer Club. Louise was a 57 year member of the Cape Porpoise Methodist Church (now Church on the Cape) where she was active in several ministries. She was predeceased by her husband Philip G. Fairfield who died in 1975; a daughter Marjorie Fairfield Gould who died in 1997, a brother Sumner Wesley Wright and a sister Marion Wright Sarle. Louise is survived by seven children (HER PRIDE AND JOY?) who kept her very busy. They are Harold R. Fairfield and his wife Francesca of Yarmouth, Edward H. Fairfield and his wife Martha of Hopkinton, N.H., Elizabeth Louise (Betty Lou) and her husband Glenn Townsend of Boothbay Harbor, James P. Fairfield and his wife Penny of Kennebunk, Kenneth D. Fairfield and his wife Marjorie of Westbrook, John W. Fairfield and his partner EdSki of Cape Neddick, Joseph W. Fairfield and his wife Rachel of Arundel; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visiting Hours will be held from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday Nov. 4, 2007 at the Bibber Memorial Chapel 67 Summer St., Kennebunk where an Eastern Star service will be held at 4 p.m. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday Nov. 5, 2007 at the Church on the Cape, Langsford Road, Cape Porpoise with the Reverend Ruth Merriman officiating. Private interment will be in Hope Cemetery in Kennebunk.
