Louise Smith, 86, Tuscumbia, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, after an extended illness.Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2002, at Colbert Memorial Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Officiating at the service will be Derek Sowell and Glenn Stewart.She was a native of Colbert County.She is survived by a son, Glen Smith and wife, Dorothy, Tuscumbia; daughter, Lennie Green and husband, Alvie, Wildwood, Ill.; two granddaughters that she raised, Susan McMahan and husband, Lester, Russellville, Lisa Stout and husband, Dennis, Muscle Shoals; sisters, Ethel Mae Gargis and Ruby Green; brother, Russell McDonald; grandchildren, Glenda White, Lanny Smith, Phillip Smith, Kathy Brooker, Donna Cassel, Tony Green and Tanszy Tippett; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Smith; a son, James Charles Smith; grandsons, Ronny Smith, Mike Green and Perry Smith.Pallbearers will include Lanny Smith, Phillip Smith, Mark Tippett, Clifton Smith, Dave White and Joe Dickens.She was a member of Spring Valley Church of God.
