Medical SecretaryJACKSONVILLE -- Mrs. Louise Shuman Simmons of Jacksonville, formerly of Winter Haven, died of a heart attack Wednesday (June 23, 2004) at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville. She was 89.Born in Daisy, Ga., on Dec. 7, 1914, she came to Winter Haven from Gainesville in 1935, moving to Jacksonville three years ago. She was a medical secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winter Haven.Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her husband, Paul N. Simmons Sr. She is survived by her son, Paul N. Simmons Jr., Jacksonville; sisters, Lee Ruganis, Bettye Sue Holley, Ruth Brown, all of Plant City, Elyse Harvill, Tampa; brothers, Devon Shuman, Alabama, F.A. Shuman, Texas; one grandson. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 7:30 this evening at Steele's Family Funeral Services, 207 Burns Lane S.E., Winter Haven. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Springhead Cemetery, Plant City.
