She was the matriarch of her family. She was gracious, loving, loyal and dedicated, giving her all to each and every one of her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She humbled herself. No matter how sick she was at times, she would say "its nothing compared to what Christ endured." She told many times of how she vowed to herself that if she ever made it out of the cotton fields, she would do her best to earn enough money to be able to match her shoes to her purses. God blessed her with the opportunity and she worked her way to the executive levels of both Sarah Coventry and Park Lane jewelry companies. There is a gospel song called "What can I share" In life we are to find our gifts and share them to serve people. Louise found her gifts. She loved to build women up and make them feel beautiful. She gave all she could give and what she couldn't give she shared. She was a loyal, loving, faithful wife to Elder James Powell Sr. She traveled with him as he pastored many Primitive Baptist Churches. She loved God and showed it by serving people. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for their wonderful care of our mother during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill Street, Philadelphia, PA, 19123-4101, or go online to Giftoflifefamilyhouse.org - The Powell Family
