A Celebration of Life for Louise Moore Turner, 84, Roseway Avenue, Deltona, will be held 11am Saturday, January 3, 2009 at the Greater Union First Baptist Church, 240 South Clara Avenue, DeLand, Pastor Troy A. Bradley, Sr., officiating. Calling hours will be today (Friday) from 4pm to 7pm at Arthur Mack Funeral Home and Saturday in the church from 10am until service time. Entombment will follow the services at Deltona Memorial Gardens. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, born July 10, 1924, the middle of three daughters to Nathan & Betty (Briley) Moore. She matriculated at Tennessee A & I University following her completion of high school. She had an illustrious career with American Airlines, which afforded her many opportunitites to travel around the world. Her career was based mostly in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon retirment, she worked as a community volunteer for various charities, neighborhood watch and as a school volunteer. She and her loving husband, Howard, settled in Deltona, where she became acquainted with her neighbors and enjoyed many areas of interest. She and Howard became members of Greater Union First Baptist Church where she served faithfully with the Deaconess Ministry and a benefactor to the Youth Ministry and its projects. She enjoyed sharing her travel and work experiences, her love of shopping and crocheting and knitting baby "booties" and "footies" for the elderly depsite her health. She was officially bestowed the honor of Deaconess Emeritus on September 14, 2008. She is predeceased by her parents, Nathan & Betty Moore and sister, Naomi Robertson. She leaves to cherish her husband, Howard (whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage August 17th this year); sister: Beatrice Stevenson, Nashville, TN; sister-in-law: Sadie Berry, Cleveland, OH; Brenda(Kenneth) Reed, Cleveland, OH; Cora (William) Johnson, Detroit, MI; Cora Stevenson, Nashville, TN; Bennie R. Tuff and Sandra Berry, Cleveland, OH; nephews: Robert Stevenson, Nashville, TN and Nathan Boyd, Cleveland, OH; Grand nieces/nephews: Barbara, Kenneth, Kerry, Jackie, Candice, Rodney and six great-grandnieces and nephews; many cousins including, Luella Harvey, Nashville, TN; and FrancisGrisby, Cleveland, OH; caring neighbors: Nacho & Iris Tavales and Roland & Lori Lowe; devoted friends: Freddie L. Tomlinson, Valerie & Neville Stephenson, Gert & John Hughes; Haywood Eutsey & Susie Eutsey and a very faithful and loving church family. Condolences may be sent to the family at jecss@bellsouth.net.
