ALEXANDER, Louise K., of Blountsville, Ala., died August 9, 2007. She graduated in 1939 from St. Vincent with her registered nurse designation and practiced nursing honorably in her working career. She is survived by a daughter, Catherine (Butch) Petit of Tampa; sons Jim (Ruth) of Portland, Ore., Johnny (Myrna) Salem, Ore., and O.K. (Betty) of Blountsville, Ala.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Louise was active in the Methodist Church. Many years ago, Louise arranged for her body to be donated to the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m August 18, 2007, at the Blountsville United Methodist Church. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Blountsville United Methodist Church or to your favorite charity. Louise was a direct descendant of John Witherspoon, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Mrs. Alexander died at TLC Nursing Center, a nursing home in Oneonta, Ala.
