JACKSON _ Louise (Akin), passed away February 28, 2003, at the age of 86. Born August 25, 1916 in Heavener, Oklahoma, Louise earned her B.Sc. at Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, before coming to Canada with her husband Paul. Louise was active in the University Women's Club, Shaughnessy Heights United Church and the Rhododendron Society. In 1973 she completed a diploma in Adult Education (Art Therapy) at UBC. Her love of painting and gardening touched the lives of many. Louise was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2000, and is survived by her sister, Irene Powell (Missouri); daughters, Margaret Taylor and Mary Lou Waite (Mark); son, David; grandchildren, Stephen Taylor, Peter Taylor (Areli), Catherine Waite and great-grandchildren, Kaelen and Jarvis Taylor. Many thanks to the staff of Chalmers Lodge, UBC Hospital and Heather Pavilion at VGH. In accordance with Louise's wish, a private family service will be held at Shaughnessy Heights United Church.
