-->Louise Hinson Bell GREENWOOD, SC--Louise Hinson Bell, widow of the late Reverend Curtis O'Dell Bell, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2009 at the Health Care Center of Wesley Commons in Greenwood. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Wesley Commons Healthcare Center in Greenwood at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2009. A graveside service will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Wesley Commons Chapel at the Healthcare Center and also after the burial service at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Greenwood Methodist Home or to a charity of one's choice. Mrs. Bell was born on April 30, 1911 in Lancaster, SC. She was the daughter of Isa Porter Hinson and Ernest Orrin Hinson. She was predeceased by a sister, Jewel Hinson Finger. She was a graduate of Winthrop College and later got her MA degree at Furman University. Louise taught school in Laurens, Greenville, Georgetown, Whitmire, and Buford. Later, she was a reading supervisor for some of the Greenville County Schools. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international honorary organization for women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism, and world understanding. Surviving are two sons, Dr. Curtis Porter Bell and wife, Cornelia, of Spartanburg, SC, and Roddey Cobb Bell and wife, Ruth, of Georgetown, SC; five grandchildren, Martha Louise Bell Smith, Mary Ruth Bell Wall, Jeffrey Curtis Bell, Stephen Hinson Bell, and Ryan Riser Bell, and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two half brothers, Morris and Gerald Hinson of Lancaster, SC; a half-sister, Ernestine Hinson Elliott, of Lake Norman NC; one sister-in-law, Margaret Bell of Wesley Commons, and numerous nieces and nephews.Woodlawn Funeral Home Greenville
