AUGUSTA -- Louise G. Quirion, 72, of Spring Road died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Robinson's Nursing Home, Gardiner, following a long illness. She was born in Augusta on Jan. 4, 1933, a daughter of the late Ovila and Madora (Dostie) Lemieux.Mrs. Quirion was a self-employed baker for most of her life. Besides baking out of her own home for many years, she also owned and operated Louise's Bakery on Water Street in Augusta, and the American Lunch.She was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society and St. Agnes Circle Daughters of Isabella, and was once voted "Mother of the Year" by the Ladies of St. Anne. She co-founded the Ladies of St. Anne Scholarship Fund and was president of the music boosters at Cony High School from 1979 to 1986.Mrs. Quirion was predeceased by a sister, Simone Berube.She is survived by four sons, Marc S. Quirion of Portland, Jeffrey L. Quirion of Augusta, Brian G. Quirion of Augusta and Glenn J. Quirion of Kittery; a brother, Raymond Lemieux of Lewiston; a sister, Irene Kaherl of Winthrop; her former husband, Joseph Quirion of Augusta; several aunts and numerous uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.Visiting hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, where officers and members of the Ladies of St. Anne Society are asked to meet at 3 p.m. and officers and members of the Daughters of Isabella are asked to meet at 6:30 p.m. to recite prayers for their departed member. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Avenue, Augusta.
