CHESTER - Louise E. Carter, 95, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015. She was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Springfield, the daughter of Ralph and Dorothy (Flanders) Wing. She graduated from Springfield High School class of 1938 Louise was married to Walter P. Carter on June 25, 1938; he predeceased her on Sept. 29, 1986. Mrs. Carter worked as a clerk for Central Vermont Public Service in Chester, as an assistant at National Survey in Chester and an office manager at J.H. Dunning Corp. in North Walpole, N.H. She was a deaconess and clerk for Chester Baptist Church. She was a member of the Precision Valley Squares and worked as a volunteer at Chester Andover Family Center. While living in Largo, Fla., she was affiliated with the Bay Ridge Baptist Church and had worked for the U.S. Postal Service. Surviving is a daughter, Susan Tillson of Perkinsville; a sister, Agnes Hall of Middlebury, Fla.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Wayne Carter; two brothers, Edward and Richard; and two sisters, Ruth and Janet. Graveside services and interment will take place in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield at a later date.
