Louise Vaught Alexander passed away January 12, 2011 at the age of 88 at her home in Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral, FL, after a long illness.Louise was born in Lubbock, TX on December 2, 1922. She attended Lubbock schools and Texas Tech before being employed by the USAF as a Supervisor of Airplane Parts Inventory during which time she met and married her husband of 67 years. Louise has been a resident of Florida for the past 27 years after moving to Palm Beach Gardens in 1983 from Schenectady, NY where she resided with her husband and family for 29 years. In 2001 Louise moved with her husband to Burnt Store Marina and Country Club where they lived until their recent move to Gulf Coast Village.Louise is survived by her husband, C. Everts Alexander, three children, Dennis C. Alexander of Cape Coral, FL, Robert E. Alexander of Cumming, GA, and Carol A. Wood of Danielsville, GA. She is survived also by eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Louise was active as a volunteer at Ellis Hospital when she lived in Schenectady, NY. She also loved playing golf, reading, playing computer games, and completing the daily crossword puzzle along with being an avid bridge player. She was a lover of animals and especially loved pugs.Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday January 15, 2011 at Coral Ridge Cemetery in Cape Coral. In lieu of flowers, donations in Louise's memory may be made to the Gulf Coast Village Foundation, 1333 Santa Barbara Boulevard, Cape Coral, FL 33991.
