Lou Ellen (Everett) Clark, 82, of Waukegan, Ill., formerly of Gwinnett and Barrow Counties, died Monday, June 21, 2010, following a brief illness. Lou Ellen was born June 4, 1928, in Auburn. She was the daughter of Walter Lee Everett and Carrie Lee (Wilkerson) Everett of Suwanee.On Aug. 9, 1946, she married Robert Andrew Clark of Gainesville. They were married almost 50 years prior to his death in 1996. After living for a short time in Georgia, Lou Ellen and Andrew moved to Illinois where they made their loving home. Lou Ellen and Robert Andrew Clark had three children: daughter, Kathy E. Petroshius of Kenosha, Wis.; daughter, Patricia A. DeLancey and son-in-law, Brian DeLancey of Kenosha, Wis.; son, Kenneth A. Clark of Waukegan, Ill.; granddaughters: granddaughter, Angela Petroshius of Kenosha, Wis.; granddaughters, Kristen Petroshius of Madison, Wis., and Erin C. Barnlund and grandson-in-law, Brent Barnlund of Kenosha, Wis.; grandson, Jacob Clark of Belvidere, Ill.; great-granddaughter, Savannah Lou Barnlund of Kenosha, Wis.; brothers, George Everett of Buford and Roger Everett of Sugar Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Lou worked for a short time at Abbott Labs in the 1940's, and for the Plasco Corporation, in the 1970's. However, her ultimate priority in life was taking care of her family, which she accomplished through her cooking, nurturing, homemaking and creative skills. Lou was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Andrew Clark; parents, Walter Lee and Carrie Lee (Wilkerson) Everett; brothers, Leroy, John Kelly, Jerry, Randall Everett; sister, Pauline (Everett) Deaton; and grandparents, Charlie and Sallie (Prince) Everett and Steve and Mary E. (Petty) Wilkerson.Visitation will be on Friday, June 25, 2010, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home, Lee Street, Buford.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Everett officiating. Interment will follow at Peachtree Road Baptist Church Cemetery in Suwanee.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lou's memory to the family.Arrangements by: Junior E.
