Lottie Lou Golden Adams, 95, of Cornelia passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at a private healthcare facility.Born in Stephens County on Oct. 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late J.C. and Florence Smith Golden. Ms. Adams was a graduate of Cornelia High School, Piedmont College and the University of Georgia, where she earned a degree in education. Upon graduation, Ms. Adams taught at North Habersham and Habersham Central High School for a total of 41 years. She was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church, where she was involved actively with the Jenny Wade Circle and the Administrative Board. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Walton Adams; brother and sister-in-law, Dorsey and Grace Golden; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Evan Housworth and Jane and Max Miller; and sister, Julia Ann Golden.Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce A. and Robert Jordan of Cornelia; and grandson and his wife, Christopher and Megan Head of Gainesville.Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Confidence United Methodist Church cemetery in Eastanollee with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. All friends and family are requested to meet at the cemetery at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday.
