SOMERSWORTH — On Aug. 19, 2011, we on earth lost a special angel. She was welcomed into Heaven with open arms. Lorraine St. Onge, 78, of Somersworth, died at the Hyder Family Hospice in Dover, after a short illness.Lorraine was born on July 7, 1933, to Valea (Breton) and Wilfred Lacasse. A lifelong resident of Somersworth, the better part of her career was spent working for General Electric, retiring after many years of service there. She was best known for her kind, gentle personality, treating everyone she encountered with respect and a genuine interest in their lives, making everyone feel special. Lorraine was very artistic, creating many amazing oil and water color paintings, which to this day hang proudly. She traveled extensively with Rog for many years, spending time in Florida, Aruba, Europe and many Caribbean destinations. Her happiest moments were those shared with family and her many friends. She especially love time spent in her beautiful backyard and was known to enjoy a Manhattan cocktail now and then. She treasured days spent with Rog at Perkin's Cove in Ogunquit, Maine, relaxing on the beach by day and having dinner by the ocean at Jackie's Too in the evening.Lorraine is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Roger, who will tell everyone that he won the lottery when he married her. She leaves behind a daughter, Donna Olson and her husband, Karl; and a son, Steven with his wife, Kathy. She also leaves behind her "little adopted daughter" Nadine Clark and family. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren Jennifer and Kristopher Olson, Kristen and Katie St. Onge, and Dylan Czubaruk. She leaves behind her sister, Jeannine Fournier and family, sister Anita Buzzell and family, and brother Raymond Lacasse and family. There will be no calling hours, but services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Martin Church in Somersworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hyder Family Hospice House, 285 County Farm Road, Dover, N.H. 03820. The family would like to express their appreciation to many for all of the love and support shown to our mom and entire family throughout this difficult time. We are extending our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hyder Family Hospice House for the kindness and compassion shown to us. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth, NH 03878.Visit www.fosters.com/obits for an online guest book.
