Lorraine G. Ouellette 1925 - 2013 CHICOPEE - Lorraine G. (Gagnon) Ouellette, 87, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at South Hadley surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family who were her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Salem, Massachusetts on October 23, 1925, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Marie A. (Turcotte) Gagnon. She was raised in Salem, graduated from Salem High School and lived in the city for many years before settling in the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1953. She worked part-time for many years as a bookkeeper and secretary for the family business, Chicopee Concrete Service, Inc. Active in her faith, she was a longtime communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she sang in the church choir. She was a wonderful wife and homemaker who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Leo E. Ouellette, Sr. They were married on October 25, 1947 at Saint Joseph Church in Salem, Massachusetts and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. She also leaves her loving children, Leo E. Ouellette, Jr. and his wife, Beverly Little-Ouellette, of Granby, and Jeannine A. Kenney and her husband, Terence Kenney, of Granby; her four cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Jason Ouellette and his wife, Carolyn, Karen Murphy and her husband, Darren, Chase Ouellette, and Jennifer Bartosz and her husband, Lance; her eight cherished great-grandchildren who were the "apple of her eye", Margaret, Kaitlyn, and Jack Ouellette, Kaylee, Devlin, and Kamryn Murphy, and Eva and Meredith Bartosz; many dear nephews and nieces; and several dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and extended family members of the Ouellette family. She was predeceased by her eight dear brothers and sisters. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, July 20, 2013, beginning at the St. Pierre - Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 11 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her family has requested that if desired, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children (Springfield), 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
