September 16, 2012 Loretta C. Jackson, 100, a longtime resident of Skaneateles Falls, died Sunday. Born in Brooklyn, she was a 1932 graduate of the Auburn Nursing School and had worked at the former Auburn City Hospital and the Cayuga County Nursing Home for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Skaneateles and enjoyed the senior luncheons at the Skaneateles Community Center. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Stanley; and her daughter, Margaret Ann Mecomber. Surviving are her son-in-law, Dale Mecomber; granddaughters, Catherine Cooley and Christie VanDerveer and great-grandchildren, Jessica Cooley, Colby and Bethany VanDerveer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's of the Lake Church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling Hours: Thursday 3 to 6 p.m. at the Robert D.
