The death of Lonnie Paul Simon, partner of Gail Leslie of Mic Mac Road, Burnt Church, NB, occurred on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 in Eel Ground, NB, at the age of 32. Born in Lachine, PQ, is the son of Diana (Paul) Simon and Vincent Johnson of Burnt Church, NB and the late Leonard Simon. Lonnie was a seasonal worker in both woods work and fishing. Besides his parents and partner, Lonnie is survived by: maternal grandmother: Jeannette Paul; three daughters: Kayla Simon of Fredericton, NB; Mari Simon of Fredericton, NB; Savannah Simon of Eel Ground, NB; two sons: one in Nova Scotia and Gavin Leslie at home; one sister: Pamela Augustine of Burnt Church, NB; three brothers: Leonard Simon (Claudette); Leon Simon (Tanya Augustine) and Frank Johnson all of Burnt Church, NB; special uncle: Alvery Paul (Lorna) of Burnt Church, NB; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family received visitors at 541 Mic Mac Road, Burnt Church on Friday, March 20, 2009 from 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday and Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Burnt Church on Monday, March 23, 2009 at 11 AM with Father Walter Lynch officiating assisted by Father Leon Creamer. The organist Marion Joe was assisted by the Church Choir. Active Pallbearers were: Leon Paul, Robert Sheldon Joe, Terrance Paul, Babaloo, Matterick Dedam and Joey Augustine. Cross Bearer was Wilfred Bartiboque. In Lonnie's memory, donations may be made to a memorial of one's choice.
