Lois Lenore Boulware Williams MARIANNA - Lois Lenore Boulware Williams, 78, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at her residence. Mrs. Williams was a native of Lakeland and lived most of her life in Jackson County. She retired from the Jackson County School Board, where she served as librarian at Golson Elementary for more than 30 years.Mrs. Williams was a 50+ year member of the First United Methodist Church of Marianna, where she was also a longtime member of the choir and song leader in the Dean Skaggs Sunday School Class. Lois graduated from FSU in 1951 with her degree in library science. She also continued serving her college as a longtime member of the Panhandle Seminole Boosters.She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a Pi Kappa Phi sweetheart. She was active in the Florida Methodist Conference Lay Witness Program and also the Volunteers in Missions having been on 4 mission trips to Oaxaca, Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a past chaplain of the Chipola Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.She was a charter member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, Fla. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Earl Williams; one son, Tommy Williams (and wife Mary Kay) of Tallahassee; two daughters, Lynn Baker (and husband Frank) of Marianna, Lee Ann Gerzina (and husband Ken) of Tallahassee; two sisters, Shirley Pipkin (and husband Ed) of Panama City, Joan Norgren (and husband Bill) of Mobile, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m. CDT Thursday, March 26, at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bob McKibben, Rev. Bob Calvert and Fr. Sean Knox officiating. James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel (850-482-2322, www.jamesandsikesfuneralhomes.com) will direct.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Covenant Hospice of Northwest Florida or the First United Methodist Church of Marianna Choir. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today CDT today, March 25, at James & Sikes Maddox Chapel.
