-->Lois Johnson Lane Jennings SPARTANBURG, SC-- Lois Johnson Lane Jennings, 92, of 135 Cedar Springs Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at her home. Born February 29, 1916, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late George A. Johnson, Sr. and Emma Louisa Wright Johnson. She was first married to the late J. G. Lane and then to the late Paul Jennings. A 1937 graduate of Spartanburg High School, she worked for Craft Drug Store for six years and also for the South Carolina Tax Commission. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and worked in the nursery. She played handbells in the choir at Cedar Spring Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Bailey of the home; a brother, Rev. James Johnson and his wife Elizabeth of Boiling Springs; a sister, Evelyn Skinner of Gaston, SC; two step-daughters, Polly Bennett of Spartanburg, and Linda Greer of Greer; a step-son, Kenneth Jennings; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joe Lane; and brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Taylor, Martha Sue Brazell, Rev. George A. Johnson, Jr., and A. J. Johnson. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, October 10, 2008, at Glendale Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Church conducted by the Rev. Johnny Bridges and the Rev. Clarence Crocker. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glendale Baptist Church, PO Box 268, Glendale, SC 29346. The family is at the home.
