The funeral service for Mrs. Lois B. Brown, age 97, of Athens, will be Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at 11 a.m. at Oak Park Church of God, with the Rev. Carl Maynard and the Rev. Hollis Lacey officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service.Mrs. Brown died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1909, in Lawrence County to William Borden and Arie Pillar Borden.Mrs. Brown is survived by five sons, James Ray Brown and his wife, Carolyn, of Athens, J.D. Brown and his wife, Gwendolyn, of Barton, Ala., Jerry Brown of Elkmont, Kenneth Brown and his wife, Linda, and Larry Brown, all of Rogersville; one daughter, Mavis Daley, of Decatur; two brothers, Roy Borden and his wife, Avalene, and Thurston Borden, all of Decatur; one sister, Addie Marie Bivens and her husband, Homer, of Barton, Ala.; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
