Lois Alice Nicholson Goodwin, 90, died April 18, 2013. She was born in East Orange, N.J., and lived in Lakewood Park. She received her bachelor of science degree in education from Madison College and her master's in education from Florida Atlantic University. She taught in Baltimore and taught math at John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce and St. Lucie Junior High School and taught orchestra in Lincoln Park High School. She played flute, all brass instruments, cello, bass, piano, lap dulcimer, hammer dulcimer and harp. She was one of the founding members of the Treasure Coast Symphony, Dulcimer Clubs, BRAVO symphony outreach music programs in the St. Lucie County Schools, and Sandy Shoe Steppers Square Dance Club. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church since 1947. Survivors include her children, Bonnie Putman, David Goodwin, Eileen Brooks, Michael Goodwin, Timothy Goodwin and Gwen Campbell; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 58 years, Thomas R. Goodwin Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148-0142, www.stjude.org/tribute. Services: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 4 p.m. April 26 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Fort Pierce.
