Lloyd Erwin Moore Lloyd passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the age of 76. He was born on December 24, 1932 in Rosetown, SK to Andrew and Florence Moore. Growing up on the farm, Lloyd helped the family with the large market garden they had. He would tell us many times about how they would pack up strawberries and send them to Calgary to Aunt Doris and Uncle Glen by train, and these would just be ripe enough for them to sell to people in Calgary. Lloyd married the love of his life Dorothy Mae Taylor, October 21, 1955, and to this union six children were born, two sons and four daughters. Lloyd and Dorothy farmed until 1963 when they moved to Rosetown for two years, Regina for two and a half years and eventually settling in Saskatoon where the family was raised. In 1992 Lloyd and Dorothy moved to Castor, AB and after Dorothy's passing Lloyd returned to Saskatoon in 2005. Lloyd loved to farm and work the soil. When a fire destroyed his new poultry barn at the farm, Lloyd and Dorothy moved on to Rosetown, although he still kept a hand at the farm working until it was sold. Lloyd was in the Army Reserve in the 60's and was one of the Honor Guards when Princess Margaret was on her Canadian Tour. He loved fishing and hunting. Lloyd also loved to read and the greatest disappointment was when his eye sight was going and he could no longer read his books and newspapers. Predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; his parents, Andrew and Florence; infant son, Clifford Lloyd; two brothers, Lawrence (Bud) and Ken; and his two sisters, Joyce and Helen. Lloyd leaves to mourn his sister, Doris (Glen) Dalton of Calgary, AB; daughters, Melanie (David) Robertson of Castor, AB, Vivian (Roland) Sergeew of Hinton, AB, Lloydena McKinley of Saskatoon, SK; son, Stanley (Christine) of Saskatoon, SK; and daughter, Margaret Weeks of Wainwright, AB. He also leaves to mourn twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Graveside Service for both Lloyd and Dorothy will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rosetown Cemetery, Rosetown, SK with Rev. Jo-Ann Hills officiating. Arrangements are in care of ACADIA-MCKAGUES FUNERAL CENTRE, 955-1600.
