Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collinsville Funeral Home-Sharpe Chapel for Lloyd C. Johnson, 79, Collinsville, who died Monday, May 16, 2011, at his residence. The Revs. Harold Daugherty and Thomas Bearden will officiate. Burial will be in Collinsville Cemetery. Collinsville Funeral Home directing.He was a member of Big Valley Church of God and the church clerk for several years. He was an Army Korean War veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.He is survived by wife, Shelvin Jean Johnson; daughter, Melinda and Jackie Barber; grandchildren, Cassie McDonald, Brandon Barber, Danny Barber and Heather Young; great-grandchildren, Jordan McDonald, Alexia Barber, Julian Barber, Kristan Young; brothers, Donald Johnson, Doyle Johnson; special niece, Teresa McClain; expectant great-grandson, Daniel Lloyd Harris; chosen brother, Jack Wilson.Casket bearers will be C.W. McClain, Justin McClain, Craig Johnson, Martie Johnson, Bruce Johnson, David Whitfield, Gary Whitfield and Michael Whitfield. Honorary bearers will be Edward Whitfield, Jack Wilson, Richard Harris, Noel McBrayer, Michael Chapman and Chadney McDonald.The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
