Lionel J. Beaulieu Navy Veteran of WWII; 92 LOWELL Lionel J. "Leo" Beaulieu, a resident of the Centralville section of Lowell, the beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (MacLean) Beaulieu, who died January 6th of this year, died Sunday January 11, 2009 following a brief illness. He was 92. Born in Lowell he was a son of the late Ludger and Emilie (Soucy) Beaulieu. Mr. Beaulieu was a graduate of Methuen High School and had attended Lowell Technical Institute. In earlier years Leo was a long distance runner. He represented Sacred Heart Parish in South Lawrence, winning several trophies and awards. Leo was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a superintendant for New England Power Service Company. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church. He was a 50 year member of the IBEW Local 96 in Worcester, and was also a member of the Lowell Senior Citizen Club at the Smith Baker Center, and AARP. Survivors include two daughters, Rev. Dr. Judith Thurlow Pastor of the Pawtucket Congregational Church in Lowell, and her husband Robert of Dracut. Martha Robey and her husband Richard of Lowell; four grandchildren, Robert E. Thurlow, Jr., Joy Leclair and her husband Michael, Kimberly Russell and her husband Lance, Scott D. Sullivan and his fiancée Tricia Curley; three step grandchildren, Ann Baddour and her husband State Senator Steven Baddour, Stephen Robey, Richard Robey; five great grandchildren, Daniel Russell, Megan Russell, Kelsey Russell, Isabella Baddour, Victoria Baddour; two sisters, , Yvonne Greenwood of Salem, NH, Jeannette Ratte of NJ; He was also the brother of the late Elphege, Henry, Adrien, Raymond, and Robert Beaulieu, Imelda Gagnon, and Anita Cislaskas. BEAULIEU Relatives and friends may call at the McKENNA-OUELLETTE FUNERAL HOME 327 Hildreth Street, from 4 until 8 PM on Wednesday. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 AM in St. Michael Church. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
