Linda Carol Sasman White Linda White, 62, who retired from Sonny's Barbecue, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. EDT Monday at White Primitive Baptist Church in Woodville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Beggs Funeral Home Apalachee Parkway Chapel (850-924-2929) She attended White Primitive Baptist Church in Woodville.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Leon County Humane Society, 413 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312, to support her love of animals. Linda loved her family, animals and all things Elvis Presley. Her little dog, Corkie, brought her much joy. She shared a special bond with everyone she knew.Co-workers knew her as Grandma. She was an inspiration to all and admired for her strength and attitude in the way she faced everything. "We love you and will miss you, Mom." She is survived by a son, Steve White (and wife Leilani) of Woodville; a daughter, Tammy White Gerrell (and husband Jess) of Woodville; two grandchildren, Dwayne Gerrell and Tracie White, both of Woodville; her mother and stepfather, Paul Sr. and Dorothy Dunn of Albany, Georgia; her father and stepmother, William and Laverne Sasman of LaGrange, Georgia; a sister, Virginia Duke (and husband David) of Albany, Georgia; a brother, Kelly Dunn of Albany, Georgia; three stepsisters, Dana Lawrie of LaGrange, Georgia; Linda Gore of Albany, Georgia; Peggy Bryan of Tampa, Florida; one stepbrother, Paul Dunn Jr. of Albany, Georgia; and many other friends and family.She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne White.
