Linda T. Smith-GendronBeloved wife, mother,grandmother, sister, and friend;Lifelong Lowell resident LOWELL --Linda T. (Holland) Smith-Gendron, age 66, died October 1, 2014, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House. She was the beloved wife of Leighton Gendron, Jr. with whom she had celebrated 13 years of marriage.Linda was born in Lowell on April 13, 1948, a daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (Benoit) Holland. Linda was raised in the Sacred Heart Parish and received her early education at the Sacred Heart Grammar School and Lowell High School. She later received her degree in Social Work at Salem State College.During her career, Linda worked at Lawrence General Hospital and at the Blaire House in Tewksbury.Linda enjoyed many hobbies including gardening, cooking, tennis, golf, and card games but her greatest joy was spending time with friends and family. Her grandchildren could light up her life.In addition to her loving husband, Linda is survived by two sons, Todd M. Smith and his wife, Mary (Connelly) of Haverhill and Brian M. Smith and his wife, Deborah (Leavitt) of Rowley; three grandchildren, Chad Russell, Cole Haven, and Emma Faith Smith; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Philip Breen of Lowell, and many nieces and nephews.Linda was the mother of the late Susan A. Smith and the grandmother of the late Ava Hope Smith. SMITH-GENDRON -- In Haverhill, October 1, 2014, Linda T. A Celebration of Linda's life will begin on TUESDAY MORNING at 9 o'clock from the Funeral Home followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 o'clock at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH (Lower Church), 144 East Merrimack St., Lowell. Her burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
