Homemaker GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Linda Swann Newsome Smith, age 52, wife of Mr. James Monroe Smith, of Matthews St., died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. today, August 3, 2007 at the Waldens United Methodist Church, Avera, Ga. Mrs. Smith a native of Jefferson County. She was a member of Waldens United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, James Monroe Smith; one son, Scott (Tangy) Newsome, Lincolnton, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brittany and Danielle Carson and Shelby Newsome; mother, Vivian Braddock, Gibson; three sisters, Mitzie Braddock, Gibson, Ga., Tamela (Brain) Wells, Blythe, Ga., Nicole (Mark) Brown, Avera, Ga.; two brothers, Joe (Emma) Braddock, Avera, Ga. and Glynn (Denise) Braddock, Gibson, Ga.; along with nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father, Joe Braddock; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Williford. The family will receive friends at the home of Vivian Braddock, Bell Springs Road, Gibson, Ga.
