GARNER, LINDA P., 58, of Louisville, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 25, 2005. She was born in Lancaster, SC, in 1947, where she resided throughout her childhood. She went on to graduate from Winthrop University and lived in the Carolinas before relocating to Louisville where she has resided since 1991. She was most recently employed as the director of management information systems at Humana Military. Linda was an active member of St. Matthews Baptist Church where she formed many friendships. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar S. Porter Jr. She is survived by her loving husband, David Garner; daughter, Marion Knight; son, Robert H. Gayle III; mother, Marion Porter; sisters, Priscilla Deaton, Nancy Martin, Martha Beasley, Gayle McKenzie; and brother Oscar S. Porter III. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2005, at St. Matthews Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2005, at Ratterman's Funeral Home at 3711 Lexington Road. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
