Linda M. Green, a 27-year resident of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children Oct. 20, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife for 30 years of the late Richard F. Green, a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, and her sweetheart and best friend. Born Nov. 19, 1955, in Cambridge, and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of her beloved father, the late Robert Gallagher, and Natalie Gallagher of Medford. While raising her four children, Linda was a Jack Conway real estate agent, and later owned and operated a South Shore house cleaning business for 30 years. At the age of 49, after sending her two youngest children to college, Linda and her husband fulfilled a lifelong goal of earning their high school diplomas. She then enrolled as a full-time student at Bridgewater State College while continuing to work full-time, with the dream of becoming a middle school history teacher. She succeeded, graduating Cum Laude in 2009, when she was also inducted in Phi Alpha Theta, a History National Honor Society. Linda was a Bridgewater Girl Scout Troop Leader for seven years. In this role she served as a loving mentor to her girl scouts. She served as a parent helper at the Hunt School, as well as a Bridgewater Girls Softball League Assistant Coach and Dome Field Hockey Coach. In her position as student teacher and later substitute teacher at middle schools in Brockton and Fall River, Linda was able to practice her passion for teaching and working with young adults. She gave and was garnered the utmost respect in the classroom. While pursuing her college degree and working full-time, Linda also managed to be at every one of her husbands chemotherapy and radiation treatments and doctor appointments, never leaving his side. She provided unfathomable strength and support, all the while being a wonderful mother and doting grandmother. Lindas life revolved around her family. She and her husband and children loved to travel to tropical places, Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville locations across the country, as well as Civil War sites. Weekend get-togethers with best friends Jo-Ann and Ed Corr of Bridgewater, were always looked forward to. She immensely enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, Kiley Marie and Casey Lin Ambrose of Bridgewater. Linda was an avid reader, she loved to dance, and enjoyed going to see the latest movies. She was always full of life and energy, maintaining that sitting down was wasted time. Linda and her husband were the epitome of selflessness, always putting their childrens needs ahead of their own. Linda is survived by her daughters, Erica and Samantha Green; and son, Richard Green, all of Bridgewater; daughter, Jennifer Smith of Attleboro; grandchildren, Kiley and Casey of Bridgewater and Tyler and Emma of Attleboro; sisters, Susan Terrio of Tewksbury and Lisa Olson of Everett; and dearest friends, Jo-Ann and Ed Corr of Bridgewater and Jeanne Jerome of Whitman. Friends and family are invited to a funeral home service Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater. Burial will be private. Visitation Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations in Lindas honor may be sent to ;(function() { var adKeyValue = 't='; adKeyValue+= escape('clio=STJ'); adKeyValue += escape('&cobrand=southofboston-enterprise'); adKeyValue += escape('&linktext=St. Jude Children\'s Research Hospital'); adKeyValue += escape('&linkurl=https://shop.stjude.org/GiftCatalog/donation.do?cID=13522&pID=18290&frequency_selected=2&memoryFirstName=Linda&memoryLastName=Green&sc_cid=ptn1'); adKeyValue += escape('&fn=Linda'); adKeyValue += escape('&ln=Green'); var adClkUrl = 'http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/jump?iu=/423686928/prod/obit-aff/obit-standard/clio-inline-1&' + adKeyValue + '&sz=1x1&c=2005323505'; var adImpUrl = 'http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/ad?iu=/423686928/prod/obit-aff/obit-standard/clio-inline-1&' + adKeyValue + '&sz=1x1&c=2005323505'; document.write("<a href='" + adClkUrl + "' target=_blank>St. Jude Children\'s Research Hospital<" + 'img' + " src='" + adImpUrl + "' style='width=1px; height=1px; display:inline;' /></a>"); }());, P.O.
