Linda Lee Smith Linda Lee Smith (nee Griffith), 64, of Bridgeton was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2012 at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden. The wife of Gerald "Jerry" L. Smith, they had been married for over eight years. She was born in Bronx, N.Y. and was a longtime area resident. Linda was a 1965 graduate of Vineland High School. She worked as a cashier for more than ten years at the Claridge Hotel and Casino (now Bally's) in Atlantic City. Mrs. Smith was a devoted member of the Union Baptist Temple in Bridgeton where she took an active part in the Riverwalk South Bible Study Group and writing Christian poetry. She loved to read the Bible and help people. She will be remembered for her warm smile, generosity and self-sacrifice in aiding friends or strangers alike. Mrs. Smith also enjoyed playing games on her computer. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Roger Lee and his wife, Katie of Henderson, N.C.; one step-daughter, Angela Hymer of Bridgeton; grandchildren, Brooke and RJ Lee and Cassandra, Brandon, Haley and Josiah Hymer; sisters-in-law, Judy Orlando and her husband, Tom of Altoona, PA and Connie DuBois and her husband, Tom of Upper Deerfield Twp.; brother-in-law, Steve Smith and his wife Raelene of Millville; many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Mandy. Funeral services will take place privately and at the convenience of the family at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Smith's memory to the Cumberland County SPCA, 1244 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360.
