Linda Jeane Simon BROWNS MILLS- Linda Jeane Simon, 52, died in the Burlington Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility on Sunday, April 25, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was a resident of Browns Mills, NJ. She was born in Orangeburg, SC, to Geneva Adderley and the late Clarence Riley. She was a graduate of Trenton Central High School. Also, she received her bachelor of science degree from Southern Illinois University and a master's degree in social work from Rutgers University. Linda worked as a social worker for many years for The State of New Jersey at several facilities, including the Ewing Residential Treatment Center, the Lloyd McCorkle Training School for Boys, and the Essex Residential Group Center. She retired from Garden State Youth Correctional Facility. Linda was selfless in her dedication and concern for others. This was true for family, friends and casual acquaintances. She cared for numerous foster children throughout her life. Linda was predeceased by one sister, Betty Jean Ford. Surviving are her mother, Geneva Adderley of Ewing; step-father, Gerald Adderley of Trenton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Geraldine Adderley Watts (Kevin Sr.) and Ophelia Adderley; four brothers and one sister-in-law, James Abraham, Alexander Adderley (Sherri), Jerome Adderley, and Douglas Adderley; one aunt, Lillian Morley, and special friends, Irene Phillips, Sue Pierson and Bernard Dawson. She is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the W. R. Woody Funeral Home, 465 High Street, Burlington, NJ. Viewing hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. Burial will be held at Cameron Memorial Cemetery, in Cameron, SC. The family would like to thank the staff at Burlington Woods for their compassion and support.
