LINDA GAYLE SMITH Linda Gayle Smith, 58, formerly of the Deland area, died November 27, 2006 at her home. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Carl Miller; mother, Frances Bomar Miller Poston; brother Jack Miller. She is survived by one son Jack Hoxworth of Kernersville, NC; daughter Shannon Zak and her husband Tom Zak of Cove City, NC; three grandchildren Hannah Hoxworth of Colfax, NC, Thomas and Sydnie Zak of Cove City, NC; four sisters, Martha Wheeles of Ocala, FL, Barbara Robulock of Marathon, FL, Debbie Eubanks of Freeport, FL, Janet Mills of Jensen Beach, FL; two brothers Harvey Miller of Cocoa Beach, FL, Larry Miller of Lake Mary, FL; six nieces and four nephews. Ms. Smith was born and raised in Deland, Florida. She graduated from Deland High School where she was a majorette. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in computer science from the University of Central Florida. She was a member of the PHI KAPPA PHI fraternity. She was employed for twenty years with the St. Lucie County tax collectors office where she was the supervisor of information technology. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
