Linda Davis - SAVANNAH - Linda Davis, 52, is now with the Lord. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday January 13, 2009. Born to Miles Baker, Sr., and Ella Mae Baker in Columbus, GA, she was the youngest of six children. Linda accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior at an early age, she was baptized at the Fourth Street Baptist Church in Columbus, GA. She graduated from Hardaway High School in 1974 and from Savannah State University in 1978. Linda spent most of her career in Savannah. First at Savannah News Press, where she retired after over 15 years of service as Manager of Circulation, then at The Hyatt Regency Hotel where she worked faithfully for years. Most recently she was employed as a case manager for Chatham County Department of Family and Children Services. She served faithfully in her faith community; as President of the Mission Ministry, and Co-Director of the Youth Ministries at Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church, as 1st Vice-President of the Women's Auxiliary of the Berean Baptist Association, Inc., as general servant and helper anywhere she was needed. She was preceded in death by her father; Miles Baker, Sr. Linda leaves to celebrate her life, her beloved mother; Mrs. Ella Mae Baker of Columbus, GA, three brothers; Robert (Christine) Evans, William Baker, Miles Baker, Jr., all of Atlanta, GA, two sisters; Mary B. Everhart of Atlanta, Rena B. Hunter of Cleveland, OH, her nieces and nephews who adored her; Terrence (Lisa) Evans of Torrance, CA, Marcia Sanders, Kendrick Baker, Jason and Ella Everhart, Maegan Baker, all of Atlanta, GA, Kimberly and Regina Hunter of Cleveland, OH, newborn grandnieces; Addison and Tori Evans of CA, many close friends and family throughout the state. Linda's family will receive friends on Friday, January 16, 2009 from 7-8 p.m. in the Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday ,January 17, 2009 at Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Martin Luther King, Jr., Blvd, Rev. Ricky A. Bready Sr., pastor. Interment: Green Acres Cemetery in Columbus, GA, Sunday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to Tremont Temple Youth Ministries. Her family wishes to thank her human resource managers, supervisors, co-workers, the Tremont Temple Church family, the Berean Baptist Association, Inc. family, and the many many friends who encouraged and assisted Linda during her illness.
