MIDDLETOWN - Linda D. Smith, 50, of Middletown, passed away, Sunday, May 27, 2007. Born in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of the late James H. and Jean Edwards Walker. Linda had been employed by the Bristol Myers Squibb Corporation in Wallingford for 15 years until her retirement and was a member of the Ward Street Church of Christ in Wallingford. She is the beloved mother of Stephanie J. Smith Acampora of West Haven and Mark L. Smith of the Yalesville section of Wallingford; grandmother of Madison Acampora; sister of Shirley Hamilton of Homer, La, Faye Walker of Knoxville, Tenn., David Wardwell of Brooksville, Fla., Robert Wardwell of Tennessee and James Walker of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Wardwell. Affectionately know as "Bubs" by her children, Linda will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness. Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Thursday form 5 to 6:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
