Linda Carol Greer WEST COLUMBIA A memorial service for Linda Carol Greer, 49, of West Columbia will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2014, at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Linda Greer passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 29, 2014, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was a daughter of the late Frederick and Helen Hoffman Haddad. Born in Sherman, Texas, Linda moved to Columbia in 1978 where she attended Brookland-Cayce High School. There, she met the love of her life, Gary Greer. She followed him all over the world for the next twenty-one years until he retired from the Navy back home in Columbia. Linda was a mother, a wife, an aunt, a sister, but most of all, a best friend to many. She left an imprint on every person she met, and an impression that will last forever. Her charisma, strength, and kindness can never be replaced. She had an infectiously upbeat outlook on life, and never went anywhere without a smile. Linda loved her Hollywood, her pets, Peanut and Scat, and her Gamecocks. In addition to her loving husband of 27 years, Linda is survived by her son, Jacob F. Greer; a sister, Anne Haddad of Swansea; three brothers, Tom Haddad (Sharon) of Lexington, Steve Haddad of Charlotte, NC, and Jimmy Haddad of Columbia. She is also survived by a large and loving extended family. She was predeceased by a sister, Sue Cole. The family would like to thank all the nurses on 11 West at Palmetto Health Richland for the special care given to her and her family. She will be forever in our hearts.
