Lillie Mae Hawkins Anderson - SAVANNAH - Lillie Mae Hawkins Anderson was born on, June 6, 1925 to the late, Lillie M. and Benjamin Hawkins in Savannah, GA, and she was raised in Guyton, GA. Lillie Mae was converted and baptized by Rev. L.C. Sapp at the First Union Missionary Baptist Church in 1940. She served faithfully as an Usher, in the mission and on the Deaconess Board until her health failed her. Lillie Mae met and married the love of her life and was married to Rev. Alton Anderson for 35 years; to this union they raised to sons, Benjamin and Johnny. Lillie Mae was called home to rest on October 11, 2010 Savannah Rehab. She leaves to cherish her memory 2 sons, Benjamin (Juanita), Johnny (Mary), 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a host of cousins, nephews, nieces and a special cousin, Jessie Stanley, god daughter, Betty (David) Hudson. Mrs. Anderson will lie in state from 8:30 until hour of service. Funeral will be held 11 a.m., Saturday at First Union Missionary Baptist Church, Savannah. Interment: Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
