Mrs. Lillian Wallace Mitchell passed away March 27, 2006. She was born Oct. 20, 1908. She was a wonderful mother, a great friend, an excellent cook -- world famous for her pecan pies -- and enjoyed quilting and needle work.She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Mitchell, who passed away March 16, 1987, and her daughter, Hilda, who passed away Aug. 26, 2002.She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Rose Mitchell, of Navarre Beach, Fla., and David and Peggy Mitchell, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Minamitani, Traci Hall, Aeiko Mitchell, David Mitchell, Chris Mitchell and Anna Ganse; great-grandchildren, Audrey Hall, Katie Mitchell and Michael Paul Mitchell.The family will receive friends at Elkins Funeral Home, 1535 Hermitage Drive, Florence, on Thursday evening, March 30, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, at Elkins, with burial immediately following at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
