Lillian J. Hubbard Valparaiso, IN Lillian J. Hubbard, 81 of Valparaiso and formerly of Chesterton, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at Porter Valparaiso Hospital Campus. She was born on March 1, 1924 in Porter, Indiana to Peter and Mabel (Foss) Peterson. Lillian graduated from Chesterton High School in 1942 and worked for JC Penny's Regional Office in the collections department. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Banta Center, Moose Lodge, and the Friendship Center all of Valparaiso. Lillian enjoyed knitting and knitted blankets for newborn babies at Porter Hospital. On April 26, 1947 she married Maynard Nelson who preceded her in death in 1977 and on December 22, 1990 she married James W. Hubbard who preceded her in death in 1994. Lillian is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Robert A.) Schultz of Valparaiso; three grandchildren: Robert and Nathan Schultz and Chrissy (Christopher) Evans and sister, Delores Tight of Valparaiso. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a twin brother, Virgil Edward Peterson. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14th at 1:30 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. Memorial contributions may be made the Banta Center of Valparaiso. angelcrestinc.com
