Lillian Elizabeth Harrington of GreeneLillian Elizabeth Harrington passed into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ at Gilmour Health Care Facility, Norwich on Sunday, May 5, 2002. Psalm 116:15, Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Lillian was born on November 11, 1903, the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Harrington. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Rena Harrington, Irene Carpenter and Mildred Harrington; and two nephews, Donald Carpenter and Henry Carpenter, Jr. She is survived by nieces, Marian Smith and Jennie Carpenter; grand-niece, Connie Barnes; and other nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Mary Laing. Lillian was a retired school teacher. She taught in rural and central schools for 34 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Greene, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Funeral and committal services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Central Baptist Church, Greene with Rev. John Pooler officiating. Burial will be in Genegantslet Park Cemetery, Greene. Friends of the family may call Thursday from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. at Central Baptist Church, Greene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, South Chenango St., Greene, N.Y. 13778. Arrangements are by the Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene.
