Homemaker AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Doctor's Hospital, Mrs. Lila Lee Smith, 85, wife of Hugh Grant Smith. Mrs. Smith was a native of Cleveland, OH. She and her husband of 66 years were high school sweethearts and married at Wade Park Methodist Church in Cleveland. She was a member of Mentor United Methodist Church in Mentor, OH. where she was a former Sunday school teacher, pianist, organist, vocalist and more importantly a homemaker. She was a past officer and member of Willoughby, OH. Eastern Star. Mrs. Smith and her family spent many years in Ohio before being transferred to August in 1976. Upon moving to Augusta she became a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. Family members in addition to her husband include her son: Alan Grant Smith (Blanche); daughters: Sandra Lee Katcher, Suzanne Marie Smith and grandchildren: Patrick, Alan, Scott and Kate. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 11, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Dan Brown officiating. Interment will follow later in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Rock Creek, OH. Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America National Headquarters, 706 Haddonfield Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
