JOHNSON, Lester Wilhelm - In loving memory of Lester Wilhelm Johnson who passed away peacefully at Extendicare York on Sunday morning, December 10, 2006. Beloved husband of Margaret (Vessie), much loved and respected father of Aloma and Kenneth (Pierrette) and cherished grandpa of Marc, Mathieu, David and Emilie. Lester was a kind and gentle man who loved God's world and appreciated his place within it. His favourite spot to be was in his and Margaret's garden where he often did his deepest thinking, all-the-while enjoying the wonder of God's creations and those of his and Margaret's making. Lester loved his life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Our Dad had a work-ethic that was second to none and he firmly believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well. His talented hands, creativity and his skill with tools led to beautifully crafted gifts for his family. He has left us with many treasured memories and many a chuckle. Dad had a wonderful sense of humour. We have been blessed to have had him with us for as long as we did. To Dad, his family always came first. We will dearly miss him and remember him with a great deal of love. Lester was born in Norquay, Saskatchewan on April 23, 1917, son of Wilhelm and Clara Johnson and a brother to Alice McHarg and Jeannine Harrison. He has been predeceased by his sister Irene and his brothers Clayton, Robert and Wilfred. A private family service will be held on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Andrew's United Church Memorial Fund or to the Residents' Activity Fund at Extendicare York would be much appreciated.
