Germain, Mr. Leon Daniel 1939-2004 Peacefully on Tuesday afternoon July 20th, 2004 at the Timmins and District Hospital, at age 64, of Extendicare Nursing Home, Schumacher. Beloved husband of the late Linda Germain (June of 2002). Dear father of Richard (Linda) Germain of South Porcupine, Leona (Eddy) Chevrier of Val Caron and Elaine (Allan) Chevrier of South Porcupine. Cherished Pops to Lindy Lavoie (apple of his eye) (Serge Labelle), Poppa to Justen Chevrier (Cora Lee Morin), Adam Chevrier, Ashley Chevrier (Tyler Beyer), Jessica Germain, and great granddaughter Hayley Mae. Leon is also survived by his brothers Omer (Anna), Roger and Michael. Mr. Germain was predeceased by his daughter Janet and his parents Helena (née Bourgignon) and Omer Sr. Germain. Leon was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed camping with his wife Linda, spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter Hayley Mae who always put a smile on his face and a sparkle in his eye. His great passion for wood resulted in a long career in carpentry and cabinet making. Remembrances made to the Diabetic Foundation or the Dialysis Unit at Timmins and District Hospital through the funeral home will be greatfully acknowledged. A funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held at St. Joachim’s Church South Porcupine with Father Mitch Sliwa officiating on Friday July 23rd, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Internment will follow beside his wife Linda at Porquis Cemetery.
