WASHINGTON, Ga. - Mrs. Lena Mabel Chafin West, 97, of Stoney Ridge Rd., died Friday, August 21, 2009, at Heritage Health Care of Washington. Mrs. West was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late George P. Chafin and Connie Mae Moss Chafin. She was retired from Royal Manufacturing Co. and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Daniel Everette West and was a member of the Phillips Mill Baptist Church. Graveside services will be Sunday, August 23, 2009, at 3 p.m. at Phillips Mill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Rayner officiating. Mrs. West is survived by two sons, Marion (Joyce) West and Bobby (Peggy) West, both of Washington; two daughters, Shirley W. Goldman of Lincolnton and Mary W. (Louie Gene) Hubbard of Washington; one sister, Blanche C. Sisson of Washington; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
