She was a member of Coral Baptist Church, Miami, FL, moving to Lake Placid, FL in 1971, and was a former member of First Baptist Church of Lake Josephine. In 1987, she moved to Sebring, and was a member of Whispering Pines Baptist Church. She was a resident of the Palms for the past two years. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel P. Carter; and sons, Robert L and Paul E. Carter. She is survived by her sons, George W. (Ruth) Carter, Albuquerque, NM and Charles David (Maria) Carter, Miami, FL; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Carter, Oakland, FL; sister, Virginia Moseley, Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Mark, Kathleen, Paul, Georgette, Travis, Christopher, Sarah and Kevin Carter, Daniel and Pablo Lafuente. Visitation, 10:00 am-11:00 am, with services to follow at 11:00 am at Morris Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Steve Trinkle officiating.
