Retired Operations Manager Roses, North Augusta Store NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Leila Williams, of North Augusta, S.C., widow of James E. Williams, Jr., departed this world on June 22, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and COPD. She has gone to heaven to be with her beloved Jimmy. Leila was born on August 1, 1930 in South Georgia to L.D. and Lilly Terry. She was a faithful employee of Rose's Stores for 27 years. She gave much and asked little in return. She is survived by her loving daughter, Wanda; stepdaughter, Marilyn; her grandchildren (who were the joy of her life), Alisa (Bill) Benson, Prattville, Ala., Derek (Amy) Clark, Thomson, Ga., Brannon (Bonnie) Clark, Jackson, S.C., Wesley Clark, Ricky Clark, Evans and Appling, Ga.; and step-grandson, James Smith, Clark Hill, S.C.; her great-grandchildren, Elijah, Zachary, Caleb, Joel Benson, Jeremy and Katy Clark, Aaron and Sadie Clark; her brothers, Tommy (Pat) Terry, Conyers, Ga., Ronnie (Barbara) Terry, Orlando, Fla., Larry (Terry) Terry, Lee Patillo, Okla.; sisters, Patricia (Mark) Sentelle, Loganville, Ga., and Joyce Connor; one sister-in-law, Miriam Andrews, Atlanta, Ga.; special friends, Linda (Dallas) Martin, Nona McClellan, and Neva Cawthon. Pallbearers will be Derek Clark, Brannon Clark, Wesley Clark, Ricky Clark, Aaron Clark, and Bill Benson. Her family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Select Specialty Hospital, Waverly Gardens Assisted Living, and Heartland Hospice for making her final months happy ones and for allowing her to depart this earth with peace and dignity. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and a member of GIA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Brown and Pastor Bill Benson officiating. Mrs. Williams will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.
