Lee Ethel Johnson <br/> SPARTANBURG, SC --> Lee Ethel Johnson SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Lee Ethel Johnson passed on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at her home. She was born on July 19, 1933 to the late Alston Arthur Locklear and Alice Henderson Locklear Collins. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she served as the Director of the Youth and member of The Chancellor Choir until her health declined. Left to cherish fond memories are: her two sons, George Locklear of Atlanta, GA and Frank (Linda) Johnson of Sumter, SC; her four daughters, Geneva (James) Chambers, Mechelle Johnson, Stella Johnson all of Spartanburg, SC and Janet (Alvin) Gibson of Winston Salem, NC; her two sisters, Shirley Locklear and Norma Pitts of Spartanburg, SC; her twelve grandchildren; her eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband, Leo Johnson; her two brothers, Reverend Howard Locklear and Columbus Locklear. A Celebration of the Life of Lee Ethel Johnson will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Dr. Benjamin D. Snoody will officiate.
